"Another time, another day, the B&W DM303 would have walked
away an easy winner in this category. But it had to run into the
unheralded Heybrook .5 (reviewed September 2001), which did everyhing the
DM303s did, at less than half the price! The .5s may be extremely
aggressively priced, but there is nothing cheap about their build or sound
quality. The .5s are truly versatile, entry-level hi-fi speakers that
perform equally well as both pure stereo speakers and home theatre
speakers. All considered, there could not have been any other winner in
this category!"

"Neatly built into a vinyl-wrapped 15mm thick high- density
particle-board box, the HB4 has a massive 30mm thick MDF baffle with a 9mm
sub-baffle. Inside, the bass is reflex-loaded into a 30 litre enclosed
volume with a rear port, with a separate lower space for mass loading
(just add sand). A further small, separate chamber provides rear loading
for the mid driver, which fills the range between 400Hz and 3Khz."
